Connecting to the Websocket API

The Websocket endpoint for all connections is wss://socket.cbix.ca. The Websocket echo test can be used for debugging.

The Websocket API currently does not require any authentication.

Index Websocket API (/index)

The Index Websocket API provides the latest index values, volume data and change information.

A basic example implementation of the Index Websocket API is available here.

Subscribing to the /index endpoint at wss://socket.cbix.ca/index will return an Index object of the format below with all dates in ISO-8601 format.

Trade Websocket API (/trades)

The Trade Websocket API returns all trades from all supported exchanges.

Subscribing to the /trades endpoint at wss://socket.cbix.ca/trades will return a Trade object of the format below with all dates in ISO-8601 format.

Order Book Websocket API (/orderbook)

The Order Book Websocket API returns the top 100 bid/asks from all supported exchanges for use in calculating and displaying price depth and determining order movements.

Subscribing to the /orderbook endpoint at wss://socket.cbix.ca/orderbook will return an Order Book object of the format below (for brevity only two bids and asks are shown).
